When I delete a video and empty the trash, it doesn't seem to be deleting the video from my hard drive. Why not?
We'd need more information before providing any insights. What operating systems are you using? Where are you deleting the files from? The more details you can provide, the better we can assist you.
Windows 7 64 bit. I'm deleting files from Storyteller (this is the Storyteller forum so thought that was understood...my B). I empty the trash and the Storyteller tells me they were delete successfully, but when I check in Windows Explorer, the file is still present.
Thanks for the additional information Adam. Storyteller is only deleting the file from its database. To remove the file from your computer, you will need to do that from outside Storyteller.
That doesn't sound right because when I go to empty the trash in Storyteller, it warns me that the file will also be deleted from my hard drive (or something like that). Why would I want to just delete it from the database without at least having the option (defaulted on) of deleting the actual file? If that's your design team's intention, can you please add a "feature request" to allow for file deletion from Storyteller in addition to database deletion?
I have passed your comments along to our development team.
