storyteller: how to back up movies WITHOUT storyteller at the set - but import later

George Dec 09, 2012 03:17PM MST

Hi everybody.
Assuming my Contour+ will work...
With a set of 5 batteries and 3 sd cards I hope to record some hours of material per day. At the evening I need free the sd cards, I do NOT have a Storyteller PC at hands then.

I assume I require to copy / back up the files from the camera to a laptop vir file explorer. After that i can format the sd cards.

BUT: how can I import this backes up data to storyteller later?

Any help appreciated.

Hi George,

Storyteller has the ability to import movies from a source other than the camera. You should be fine...

Hope this helps...

Hello George,

CycleParadise is correct, and you can import your videos into Storyteller by clicking on File>Import>Import Movie... If you then browse to the other laptop, you should be able to add your videos to Storyteller without issue.

Oh perfect, and that includes GPS data?

Thanks for the fast replay and information, I did simply not see that.

Hello George,

Yes, this includes GPS data - this data is contained within the video file itself (although if the video is edited, it can potentially be lost).
