ContourROAM (Gen1) Firmware Update v1.11 Low-Light Issue
In the previous version of the firmware, the clarity of the camera in a low-light setting was not compromised. Immediately after the firmware update, my footage from inside my car became hazy and unfocused with artifacting on visible light sources. Frame rate also seemed to have suffered immensely as playback seems choppy. Is there anyway to correct this, or to roll back to the previous version?
Actually, I found version 1.10 online. I reverted the firmware and I can confirm that in low light, version 1.10 performs much better than version 1.11. However, when there is sufficient available light, v1.11 is definitely much better. Even so, the low light performance of v1.11 is so bad that I would rather use the older v1.10 until a fix is released. Thanks.
Thanks for contacting Contour Technical Support. Our cameras are not designed for low light conditions and that the image sensors are tuned for daylight conditions. That is why you are seeing the difference. It is not likely that any future updates will address low light situations.
