The Contour ROAM is waterproof  up to 1 meter (3 feet).  It is IPX-7 rated. This allows the camera to operate in a rain-storm, while jet-skiing, wake-boarding, snowboarding or skiing, etc... 

If you'd like to use the camera at depths greater than 1 meter, we recommend the waterproof case designed for the ContourROAM.  It is rated for a depth of 60 meters (180 feet).
