While the firmware update process usually goes smoothly, there can occasionally be an error. There are a couple of things you can try to correct this.
1) Make sure that the camera battery is fully charged. To do this, plug the camera in to the USB port of your computer. The red charge light on the camera should come on. If it doesn't, try using a different USB port on the computer, a different computer, or a different USB cable. It takes between 4 and 5 hours to fully charge the battery.
2) Drain and reset the camera’s electrical components. Take the battery and the microSD card out of the camera. Close the back door of the camera (with the battery out) then press and hold the power button of the camera for 10 seconds. Nothing will appear to happen, but this will drain the capacitors of any stored charges and clear the camera's settings. Wait an additional 2 minutes then put the battery and SD card back in, and try to boot the camera again.
