contour gps stops recording

I have 4 contour cameras. 2 Roams and 2 GPS. I like the ability to change the battery in the GPS, but the Roam runs longer on a charge. My issue is that recently one of my GPS began to stop recording after the first segment on my 16GB card. If I power it off and back on again,it will start recording again. Also, if the battery goes dead in a segment, the camera will somehow damage the data so it cannot be played in any media viewer. Not an issue with the other GPS. Can anyone provide me with feedback as how to resolve this issue?

Thanks for contacting Contour Technical Support. I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your camera. It sounds like the cards have not been formatted properly for the ContourROAM. The ContourGPS and ContourROAM need to have the cards formatted slightly differently and both cameras must have the microSD card formatted in the camera that you plan to use the microSD card.

Based on what you have said, it looks like the ContourROAM is having trouble with cards that have been formatted in the ContourGPS.

Make sure that you are formatting the cards using these steps for each model of camera:

Yes, if the camera loses power while recording it is possible for the video that is currently being recorded to be corrupt since the camera is not able to close the file properly.
