I have just bought and set up a sweet Contour HD cam on my motorycle helmet. I have the #1 position set for 1080p and the #2 set for 720 action. I installed a 16GB class 10 memory card. My question is i don't quite understand the what the High vs Low "Video Quality" setting is for. I will be mainly using the cam on a helmet mount while riding my Honda CBR F4i. I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times before, so sorry about that but i'm still confused.
Thanks for contacting Contour Technical Support. Technically, the High and Low quality settings adjust the camera's bit rate and this is one of the settings that determine how much data is recorded for any single frame of video. The High setting will capture more data and provide a better picture, but also create a larger file that takes up more room on the microSD card.
Some people can tell the difference, others cannot tell the difference in their videos. You will need to make some test videos and make your own subjective decisions as to the best setting for your situations.
