I got the above error on my Windows 7 machine and followed the help instructions to uninstall and reinstall QuickTime and Storyteller. That solved the problem, but only very briefly. Storyteller ran the first time I tried it after reinstalling and rebooting, but subsequent attempts to run it give the same "can't initialize movie player" error message.
